Now that your child has a confirmed place at Fairfield for September 2018, we would like to invite him or her to spend some days with us. Each day will be devoted to a different subject area, and introduce students to others joining their year group. They will also get to know the building and members of staff.

Therefore I would like to invite your child to Fairfield from 10am to 2.00pm on:

Thursday 28th JuneSports Day. This day will involve sports challenges and treasure hunts, to develop team work and confidence. Your child should arrive in suitable sports clothing (not school issue), including trainers, and bring hats, water and sun cream if it is a hot day.

Thursday 5th JulyGetting to Know the Curriculum Day. Your child should be dressed in their normal school uniform, if they have one.

Friday 13th July New Form Day. This day will be spent in your child’s new form, getting to know their form teacher and classmates. Your child should be dressed in their normal school uniform, if they have one.

Students should bring a packed lunch and water each day and we will provide a drink and snack at break time. On arrival, they will be greeted at the front door and then taken through to assemble in the Sports Hall.

Some schools have organised to transport children to and from Fairfield; we advise you to check with your primary school to see if any transport is being arranged by them, otherwise you will need to arrange transport to and from Fairfield. Members of staff will escort students to and from Peterchurch Primary school. The Head Teachers of the feeder primary schools are aware of the dates and are happy for their students to attend. However, if your child attends another school please arrange transport to and from Fairfield and ask permission from your child’s Head Teacher for his/her visits to Fairfield.

On Thursday 28th June there will be a meeting for Year 6 students and their parents or carers from 5.00pm – 6.30pm.

The school admission forms, permissions and other important information will be given to you that evening. There will be an opportunity to ask any questions and meet other parents whose children are starting at the same time. We hope you will make a point of attending the meeting, even if you already have children attending Fairfield.

If you have any queries please telephone the school office at Fairfield (01981 550231) and speak to the admin staff or the Head of Key Stage 3, Mrs Alison Gallagher. Please complete and return the reply slip to Mrs Gallagher as soon as possible.

For your information, The School Uniform Shop of 10a St Peter’s Square in Hereford will have the appropriate uniform in stock during the summer. Sarah Murrin in Peterchurch is also able to provide articles of Fairfield uniform.

We look forward to meeting you soon and working with you and your child over the next five years.
