Fairfield operates a two-week timetable, details of which will be in your child’s planner. This panel will show you which week we are currently on and allow you to check future dates.
U12s at Bromyard
Congratulations to the U12s on their success at the Bromyard Tournament today. After the success at the last tournament we were seeded as one of the top schools in the tournament and for the first time we were able to fieldtwo teams with both teams living up to the expectations and putting on a show.
Fairfield A topped their group after winning 3 and a draw, then completed a whitewash to reach the final. The Final itself was a great spectacle with some great rugby from both teams and outstanding tackling and scrummaging, we lost only one scrum all day which the opposition's teacher applauded and wanted to know our secrets!! Unfortunately on this occasion we came runners up but to quote Lewis Cotterall “they won’t be winners next week Mr Lloyd” sums up the belief these young men have in their ability.
Fairfield B were not to be outdone and put in some excellent performances after a sluggish start, mostly due to the fact that some had never played competitive rugby before and struggled to adapt to the pace of the game. Once the team found their feet they look a dangerous side, winning and losing two in their pool, meaning they missed out on the semi finals on points scored. They finally finished 3rd in the plate section after winning a 15-0 whitewash.
Overall a fantastic day out, out of 18 teams, For Fairfield to be runners up and 3rd place winners this is a testament to how hard they have all worked and I couldn’t be prouder of them.
Onwards now to next week where hopefully we will be bringing home the gold and silver
U13 Rugby, 22 October 2015
Congratulations to the U13 rugby team, who qualified for the semi-finals tonight even though they lost their final league game to JMHS.
The team were up against it from the off as I can only describe the opposition 15 as mini Julian Saveas who, when you got close and personal with, certainty were that – just ask Harry Moore or Ellis Shepherd!!!
However, the boys battled until the end and are looking forward to their semi-final encounter with Weobley the first Friday back after half term!!
U13 & U15 Rugby, 8 October 2015
Congratulations to both the U15s and the U13s on their fantastic wins this week. Each student has done the school proud and we couldn’t have asked for anymore from them.
The U15s came from behind to win 28-20, Scorers: C McLeod and R Florence x3. Conversions B Warn x 4.
The U13s are taking the league by storm and recorded another fantastic win tonight ndash; 47-22! That’s 3 from 3 for them now. Special mention to Brandon Traherne who marked his debut by scoring 5 times!!! The other scores were recorded by the two Year 7 wonders who have made a massive impression on the squad; Oliver Smith and Will Phillips. Oliver also converted 6 of his 7 kicks!!
